On Victimhood
Everyone wants to be a victim. Victims cannot be blamed. Victims are entitled to support. Victims must be heard. Victims are innocent. Victims are justified in retaliation. You can be victimised by anyone: those in power and those without it, institutions and individuals, strangers and friends.
People always want some target of attack, some blameworthy other, and finger-pointing is now the standard method of discussion. To be a victim is to be virtuous. Slave morality has found its new home.
I will have no part of this culture of victimhood, and I will not abide this self-infantilisation. May all victims find ill company in me.
