On Cringe
To be cringe is to be inappropriately, as far as one’s audience is concerned, sincere, often in a manner that exposes one’s deeper passions.
What is one to do in a society that glorifies irony and sneers at impassioned sincerity? Of course, one is to be cringe anyway. Fuck ‘em.
